Wendell's Mother, Aunt, and two sisters made up the little netting confetti bags for guests to open ant toss at us as we exited the ballroom. It appears that somebody forgot to open their bag prior to throwing! (see my shoulder!)
Us as we exited the Latta House Ball Room immediately after we were pronounced "Partners In LIfe."
Our Cake didn't look the way I wanted it to look. Definetely not like the photo I snipped from the pages of Martha Stewart Weddings. But it was absolutly, hands down, the very best tasting cake I have ever had! Italian Wedding cake with cream cheese frosting. The two grooms on the top now reside on the fireplace mantle of our bedroom.
I cherished this dance with Lily. She is my baby, and has turned out to be such a beautiful young woman! This dress was a Vera Wang, and fit her to a tee! Don't you think? I got the honor of taking both girls show shopping! Gosh did we have fun! No Manolo Blahniks, but some pretty incredible shoes just the same! Was incredible!
I love this photo! Its Caroline and Lanier, upstairs in the double parlors of the Latta House. Funny but a lot of our guests didn't even know we had tables and chairs set-up upstairs! It was a beautiful room, full of beautiful antiques.
Guests milling about and talking, with one of the happy grooms in the Latta House dining room.
My friends, Melissa, Tonya (standing) , and Anne, Rachel, and my best friend from HighSchool, Allison (sitting), in the Latta House courtyard. Allison and Rachel are sisters, and Anne is their sister in law. I always loved their whole family! Tonya and Melissa are friends from my last job managing a restaurant. Love them too! Oh, Doug is Allison's brother and Anne's husband...didn't see him in the preview!
Wendell isn't used to being the center of attention, and was a little uncomfortable with the first dance in front of all our guests. I think I was telling him that it was okay, that it was our party and we'd dance if we wanted to!
The courtyard was full of 125 happy guests, celebrating our Holy Union on the 21st of May. This was the cocktail hour , before the dining room doors were swung open , and the food was served.
We had a "Fathers and Daughters Dance" with my little girls, India and Lily. Who obvioulsy aren't so little anymore.
